A Gold Digger’s Arrogance Backfires in a Way She Never Expected

Gold Digger Mocks Shop Assistant, but Life Hits Her Back – Story of the Day

The last thing Sofia expects is to see her wealthy husband go into the same store with a mistress after insulting Chloe, an old classmate who works as a shop assistant. However, Chloe learns of a sinister scheme after he offers Sofia money to make up for his error.

Sofia ran into Chloe, an old classmate who works in the store, while perusing expensive clothing. Glancing over her attire in comparison to her own high-end wardrobe, she grinned.

“Is that you, Chloe? I can’t believe you work in this hellhole, my god. Her words were fiery, yet her tone was kind as she greeted.

Despite the clear jeering, Chloe gave a polite grin. “Hello, Sophia. I’m happy to see you! “How are you doing?” she inquired.

Sofia smirked as she spun around a little. “Best of all, baby!” she said, displaying her jewelry with her palms raised. “I drive a Porsche, wear diamonds, go to parties, and enjoy life in general as always.”

Then, with a sigh, she shook her head at Chloe and expressed her sympathy. “I informed you! You wouldn’t have needed to work either if you’d undergone a little plastic surgery, styled your hair, and dressed nice,” Sofia said.

Sofia quickly asked for a coffee when Chloe offered her some tea in an attempt to shift the conversation. Liam, another store employee, was called over by Chloe to get the drink.

However, Sofia needed to brag once more. She gave the small guy a finger snap. “I’ll have a latte with cream and skim milk that is lactose-free. She insisted, “Make sure it’s not too hot.” “Hey? “Are you paying attention?”

Liam went to get the coffee after giving Chloe a knowing glance while remaining courteous. Sofia returned her focus to Chloe and continued to critique.

“Chloe, believe me, I wasn’t going to come to this hellhole, but Tom got an urgent call from work,” she said. Tom is the owner of a sizable business and sets his own hours, but—what am I talking about? You wouldn’t comprehend.”

Chloe kept nodding and grinning as she attempted to guide her former classmate toward their choice.

Sofia concluded, “Anyway, in short, I decided to have some fun while he finishes his business, so I ended up here,” as Liam brought her coffee. “It’s cold!”

Liam recoiled as she pressed the coffee cup into his shirt, nearly dropping it. Chloe interrupted Sofia, who was about to launch into another insulting tirade, by discussing the new collection and its uniqueness.

Sofia stopped talking, curled her lips at Liam, and let Chloe to show her the pieces on the higher floor.

Abruptly, a pair came into the shop, clearly in love and making plans for the evening. The man’s rough voice was broken by some loving laughter as the woman was chirping and thanking him for taking her shopping.

After observing them for a moment, Chloe offered Sofia another hat to try, but she was abruptly aware that Sofia had frozen and was refusing to remove the one she was wearing. Sofia slapped Chloe’s hand away when she tried to persuade her to look at the new one.

Chloe could see her old classmate’s weeping eyes with the slightest movement. “Sofia, what’s going on?” Chloe scowled as she inquired, but she had the answer after having an epiphany. “That’s your husband, isn’t it?”

Sofia merely stood there, holding back her sobs and breathing raggedly. Her feelings were very different from those of the woman who had been there only moments earlier.

“Aren’t you going to confront him?” Chloe inquired. “I thought you were stronger than this.”

“I am unable to. He owns everything. Even my automobiles are registered in his name, and he has all the money,” Sofia muttered.

“Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t it obvious that he’s already tossed you aside?” Pointing to Tom’s public love for the other woman, Chloe said. “Money is one thing, but he should at least respect your marriage.”

Sofia squared her shoulders and sniffed. She muttered to Chloe, “You’re right,” and then she turned and strode downstairs.

“Tom!” Sophia’s loud voice reverberated throughout the store as she yelled. “You dare! What’s happening? “Who is this woman?”

“Um, listen, what are you doing here?” Tom said, his eyes widening like a deer in headlights. I assumed you were home.

“Oh, I’m Melissa; nice to meet—” The woman next to him began by putting her hand up.

“Keep your claws away from me!” Sofia cut me off.

Tom turned to his wife and sighed, encouraging Melissa to look about the store. “For heaven’s sake! You’re creating a commotion! He yelled at Sofia, “I don’t need a scandal.”

“I am unable to comprehend. How about our union? Do you not give a damn about how I feel?

“Emotions? Are you crazy, come on? “This ring has no meaning,” Tom said with a sarcastic laugh. “You are aware of that! I married you as an investment, and you wedded me primarily because of my wealth.”

“No!” Sofia shot back. “I married you for love.”

“Jesus. Hurry up! Taking a gold card out of his wallet, he announced, “This is a beneficial relationship only.” “Here, buy yourself something nice.”

Sofia screamed, “You can keep your stinky money!” and hurled the gold card back at his chest in a fury. We’re finished. Then she and Chloe ran out together.

Chloe reassured Sofia outside by offering her a job and a place to stay. “You’ll discover the solution. “If you don’t mind, I can assist you,” she said, giving Sofia a back pat.

“I apologize, Chloe. All Sophia could say was, “I’m sorry,” but she eagerly accepted Chloe’s assistance.

After just a few minutes, Tom and Melissa departed the store, their date ruined. After bringing Melissa home, he invited Luke, his best buddy, over. He and Sofia talked about how his ambitions would be ruined if Sofia left.

“I can’t set her up to take the fall for the company’s financial eeh…creative moves if she divorces me,” said Tom. “That’s why I was spending so much money on her.”

“A gold digger is always good as long as there’s gold,” Luke reassured him. “She will return. It’s been years since she worked. When she realizes how awful it is, she will rush to you.

Tom paused and poured himself a heavy drink. “Maybe, but perhaps,” he said. “I could do something else.”

Sofia accepted Chloe’s invitation and was free to remain for whatever long she desired. However, nobody else was aware of one aspect of her. Chloe was already asleep that night when Sofia became ill and puked horribly in the restroom.

For some reason, she only got morning sickness at night. How can I raise a child by myself? Without any money? Sofia moaned but reassured herself that she could pull it off. I can, if others can. Correct?

When she returned to her bed, she was startled to see that Tom had texted her. It said:

Sophia. I apologize. I’ll send you $100 million to make up for it. I would like to discuss it with you when we meet tomorrow. I won’t stop you if you still choose to go. I cherish you.

She told Chloe the following morning, and she shook her head the whole time. “He’s telling lies. If I were you, I wouldn’t believe him, but I’m not sure what he’s up to.”

“But it’s a $100 million,” Sophia said, holding onto her hope. What if he’s telling the truth?

Before heading out of the house for work, Chloe informed her quite sternly, “Again, if I were you, I wouldn’t meet him.”

Sofia let out a sigh and remained there, reflecting.

When Tom got there, Chloe was at work. Sophia had not yet arrived, and she prayed that would remain the case. A few minutes later, Chloe made the decision to approach Tom as he reached for his cell phone. She reached for her own phone, clicked on a specific app, but wasn’t sure if it would assist.

“Once she signs the documents, it’ll be her head on the block, not mine,” remarked Tom. She also spent a lot of money, thus she should be held accountable. “What’s a little jail time?”

Unaware of the person he was speaking to, Chloe discreetly gasped but kept listening.

“I can’t afford to be prosecuted even though I was the one who perpetrated the scam. I’ll lose everything. Later, a few million will silence her,” Tom sighed into the phone. “I have to leave. She is present.

No! As Chloe saw Sofia enter the store, she pondered. She glanced around for a moment, like a forlorn little child, then Tom came over and gave her a friendly greeting.

His voice became velvety smooth as they sat, “I pledge to make up for what I did, even though I realize it was awful. Hold on, I need your signature on this. I texted you regarding this.

“What?” Sofia pondered.

Tom handed her papers. “The moment you sign these documents, I’ll send the money straight into your account,” said the man.

Chloe nearly skidded across the floor to reach the papers, interrupting Sofia as she snatched them and began scanning. She yelled, “Don’t do it!” and turned to face Tom. “I heard your conversation, and I refuse to allow Sophia to go to jail.”

As Sophia listened to Chloe divulge Tom’s plans, she was dumbfounded. “He will blame you for all of his false offenses if you sign the documents. In his stead, you’ll be sent to jail,” Chloe clarified.

Tom’s expression had become pale. “What on earth are you? Return to your job! Sophia is telling lies! Why would I ever want to harm you in this way? “I adore you!” he exclaimed, gesturing to his chest.

“I captured his dialogue on tape. He is unable to get—” Chloe persisted, pulling out her phone to record the exchange. Tom, however, tackled her in an attempt to stop her from hitting play. As one hand struggled for the gadget, the other went to her hair as a diversion.

Even though Sophia was astonished to see him behave in this way, she jumped at the chance to assist Chloe without hesitation.

“Leave her! You’re lying about—”

Liam was among the others who had gathered and attempted to remove Tom from Chloe. Chloe straightened herself but had a resolute expression on her face when he did. “The police have already been called, and they are in route. “You’re going to jail!” she declared with a triumph.

It was too late when Tom attempted to flee. After taking Chloe’s phone as proof, they arrested him and departed. The instant they were out of sight, Sofia began to cry.

Chloe said, “It’s okay, sweetie,” but she was still having trouble breathing. “You have nothing to worry about anymore.”

“I have nothing to worry about when the father of my child is going to jail for fraud?” she gasped.

“That’s absurd! Sophia, you’re intelligent. “You simply undervalue yourself,” Chloe urged, encircling Sofia with her arms. “Moreover, I’ll help you with whatever you need.”

Sofia touched her belly and nodded. Chloe was correct. She could accomplish anything and was more than Tom’s wife. For her child, she had to.
